Alexander Isak reported for his first training session with Liverpool today, following his transfer from Newcastle united. The Reds received positive news on the injury front, with all players returning from international duty unscathed and available for Sunday’s away game against Burnley.
Isak, who joined Liverpool before the transfer deadline for a reported £125 million (approximately 5,500 million baht), briefly met with Dutch defender Jeremy Freimpong at the training ground before joining up with the Swedish national team for their World Cup qualifying match, appearing for the final 18 minutes.
He officially reported to Liverpool’s practice field on September 10th, meeting with manager Arne Slot and staff, including Stefan Bajcetic who was not involved in recent international fixtures.More senior players are expected to return to training on Thursday.
Liverpool are pleased to report no injuries to players who participated in the latest round of international matches. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker is in good form despite Brazil’s 1-0 loss in a World Cup qualifying game.
While acknowledging his fitness isn’t currently at 100%,Isak expressed his desire to start for Liverpool quickly.
“Yes, of course,” the Swedish international told club media when asked about his readiness to play.
However, he added, “I think it’s an ambition. But I have a strange summer that I didn’t play at all. And have a limited practice. Thus, there must be an analysis that I am ready. But of course I want to play as soon as possible.”
