Toyota Tacoma Prices Expected to Rise Slightly in September 2025 Amidst High Demand
The Toyota Tacoma, a popular mid-size pickup truck, is projected to see a modest price increase beginning in September 2025, according to industry analysts. The base 2025 Toyota Tacoma SR, currently starting at $28,250, is expected to begin around $28,750. Higher trim levels, such as the Limited and TRD Pro, will also reflect similar increases.
The Tacoma currently offers 11 different models. Features include a trailer with advanced technology, an integrated brake controller, and a blind spot monitor extending detection when towing. Select models offer a double cab option at a higher price point. The vehicle incorporates satellite navigation on a tactile screen with multimedia audio and access to security,off-road,and towing functions.
The Tacoma was initially launched in 1995, coinciding with the discontinuation of the Toyota Hilux in the American market due to the “Chicken Tax”-a 25% tariff on imported light trucks. Toyota responded by establishing manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and developing the Tacoma specifically to meet the preferences of American consumers, according to US News. While the Tacoma and Hilux share lineage, the Hilux maintains a design more focused on shock resistance, and offers three engine choices – two turbodiesel and one 2.7-liter gasoline – compared to the Tacoma’s base 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine.
