Xbox Cloud Gaming Drives Into Cars Through New Microsoft-LG Partnership
September 9, 2025 – Microsoft and LG Electronics are bringing Xbox Cloud Gaming to vehicle dashboards, offering drivers and passengers access to a growing library of games via LG’s Automotive Content Platform (ACP). The ACP, a WebOS-based entertainment platform commonly found on LG Smart TVs, will host a dedicated Xbox application designed specifically for in-car use.
Initially available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, access is expanding to include game Pass Core and Game Pass Standard members. The service is envisioned for downtime, such as while charging an electric vehicle, or for entertainment during longer journeys.
The partnership builds on a previous collaboration that brought the Xbox application to LG’s digital TVs,extending the reach of cloud gaming beyond pcs and televisions. According to Christopher Lee, Vice president of Xbox marketing, this expansion represents a move to “new locations” and provides users with more opportunities to enjoy their favorite games.
The ACP is currently installed in the KIA EV3 in Europe, with rollout planned for the EV4 and EV5 models. The platform, which already supports streaming services like Netflix and YouTube, is also available in the latest Sportage vehicle.
“[This partnership with LG] is proof of expansion to ‘new location’, after being present on a PC, and TV. Services in the car provide greater space for users to enjoy favorite games,” Lee stated.
