moscow Families Find Connection and Growth at HaBayit HaYehudi Shabbaton
Over 260 participants, representing more than 70 families, recently benefited from a weekend shabbaton hosted by HaBayit HaYehudi, a Moscow-based organization focused on strengthening Jewish family life.Teh event provided a comprehensive program addressing key aspects of family well-being, including marital connection, effective interaction, parenting skills, personal advancement, and community building.
The Shabbaton offered a diverse range of learning opportunities, featuring lectures, interactive workshops, and individual sessions led by experts in both psychology and Jewish education. presenters included rabbi Alexander Fridmar, a prominent Russian-speaking psychologist and lecturer based in Israel, alongside Dr. Ida Igra and HaBayit HaYehudi staff members Arieh Aminov and Chana Esther Rochlin.
Recognizing the importance of focused parental engagement, a dedicated and supervised program was provided for the children, facilitated by trained counselors.This allowed parents to fully immerse themselves in the sessions while also enjoying a period of rest and personal reflection during Shabbat.
Rabbi Yechezkel Lazar, Director of HaBayit HaYehudi, explained that the theme, “I am to my beloved, and my beloved is to me,” was intentionally selected to highlight the reciprocal effort needed for thriving relationships and spiritual growth, especially during the month of Elul. He emphasized the Shabbaton’s value as a unique opportunity for families to learn, recharge, and address a demonstrated need within the Moscow Jewish community for inclusive family programming.HaBayit HaYehudi consistently supports Jewish families through a variety of resources,including pre-marital counseling,parenting workshops,psychological support services,and community-focused events like this recent Shabbaton.
The organization operates with the guidance and encouragement of, and under the supervision of, the chief Rabbi of russia, Berel Lazar, who attended the Shabbaton and offered words of encouragement and inspiration to the participants.
