Western‘s Austin Colby Named Indiana High School ‘Coach of the Week’ for Week 3
WESTERN, IN – Western High School’s Austin Colby has been named the Indianapolis Colts‘ High School ‘Coach of the Week’ for Week 3, the team announced today. The honor recognizes Colby’s outstanding leadership and impact on his team, school, and the Western community.
This marks the 26th year the Colts have honored extraordinary Indiana high school football coaches. Each week throughout the season, one coach will be recognized following the weekend’s games.Any head coach in the state – regardless of school size, league, or division – is eligible for consideration.
Coaches are evaluated on a range of criteria, including their influence on the team, school, and local community, alongside their team’s on-field performance. A panel comprised of Indiana football media, former athletic directors, and other football stakeholders determines the weekly honorees.
As a ‘Coach of the Week’ recipient, Colby will receive a $1,000 donation from the NFL Foundation for his program, along with a commemorative plaque. Additionally, Corteva Agriscience will contribute $1,000 to western High School’s athletic fund, and Certor Sports will provide a $1,000 helmet credit to the athletic department.
