New Horizons Project Expands with Delivery of Second Community Hall and Baseball Field
The New Horizons housing project received a meaningful boost this week with the completion and handover of a second communal hall and a new baseball field,further enhancing the living conditions and recreational opportunities for resettled families.Barrick Pueblo Viejo has invested over RD $20,000 million in the residential project to date, benefiting more than 700 families through the six-communities resettlement process.The expansion underscores Barrick Pueblo viejo’s commitment to fostering social cohesion and well-being within the New Horizons community and surrounding areas. The 150 square metre communal hall provides capacity for approximately 70 people and features bathrooms,parking,and a storage area,designed to host social,cultural,and community activities. Alongside the hall, the new baseball field offers a modern and safe space for sport and social integration, complementing existing infrastructure and promoting a higher quality of life for residents. Each family receives a house with a property title and a 1.5-task lot for subsistence projects.
Thes new facilities build upon the project’s goal of providing decent housing and modern infrastructure for families resettled from six communities. Barrick Pueblo Viejo intends to continue reaffirming its commitment to well-being, sport, and social integration through ongoing investment in the New Horizons project.
