Lenovo today announced the Legion Go 2, its next-generation handheld gaming console, continuing the experimental approach that distinguished the original Legion Go from competitors like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally.
Building on its predecessor, Lenovo has adjusted the screen resolution from 2560×1600 to 1920×1200. The Legion Go 2 features an 8.8-inch OLED display with a variable refresh rate ranging from 30Hz to 144Hz,a peak brightness of 500 nits,and HDR support.
Pricing and Configurations
according to the Verge, the console will be available in four distinct models. the base model, priced at $1100 in the United States, includes an AMD Z2 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. Pricing for the Norwegian market has not yet been disclosed.
A configuration with 32GB of RAM will be available for $1200, while a model equipped with the more powerful AMD Z2 Extreme processor costs $1350. The highest-end version, featuring 2TB of storage, is priced at $1480. Lenovo states the console will utilize “up to” an AMD Radeon 890m integrated graphics unit.
Lenovo also reports the Legion Go 2’s battery capacity is 50 percent larger than the previous generation.
Windows 11, Not SteamOS
While the Lenovo Legion Go s utilizes SteamOS, the Legion Go 2 will run on Windows 11. The console also boasts improved, more ergonomic controls compared to the first generation.
