The photograph, taken in Pavale’s home, showcases the strong bond between the two felines. Kalya, a four-year-old black cat, and Mani, a two-year-old lighter-colored cat, are often found napping, grooming, chasing, or cuddling despite not being littermates. The image speaks to a growing recognition for the emotional support animals provide, especially highlighted in recent years as people seek comfort and connection. Pavale noticed the pair settled in thier favorite spot – a couch near a window – after completing chores around the house. “They love it there,I think becuase it gets just the right amount of afternoon light,” he said. He quickly grabbed his phone, carefully approaching to capture the scene without disturbing them. “They stayed snuggled up. I think they were too comfortable to care.”
He describes Kalya as reserved but affectionate with those he trusts, while Mani is playful and mischievous. Despite their differing personalities and age gap, a “big-brother” dynamic has developed, with Kalya frequently enough exhibiting protective behavior.
