Chilean Football Coach Accused of Denying Paternity, Claiming Vasectomy
SANTIAGO, CHILE – A prominent Chilean football coach is facing accusations of refusing to acknowledge a nine-year-old son, reportedly citing a prior vasectomy as justification. The allegation surfaced on journalist Cecilia Gutiérrez’s podcast, Bombastic, revealing a years-long attempt by the child’s mother to establish a relationship between the boy and his alleged father.
Gutiérrez detailed the case, sharing that a woman contacted her with a story of having a child with a “well-known soccer coach, but well known,” who also “at some point touched in the show [entertainment world].” According to the complaint, the coach allegedly dismissed the possibility of paternity, stating,”No,impossible to be mine…Because I have vasectomy.”
The mother has reportedly sent the coach an annual photograph with the message, “Today your son is,” for the past nine years. This year, the coach allegedly responded with a dismissive, “There is the crack,” before deleting the message.
“It is indeed more common than we would like, that these types of cases happen,” Gutiérrez stated on the podcast. She further highlighted the difficulties faced by mothers seeking legal recognition of paternity, including the financial and emotional toll of paternity tests and court proceedings.
Gutiérrez refrained from naming the coach, but the details have sparked public discussion regarding parental responsibility and the challenges of establishing paternity in chile. The case underscores the complexities surrounding reproductive choices and their impact on potential family relationships.
