Guatemalan Design Takes center stage at Paris Design Week 2025
PARIS, FRANCE – September 5, 2025 – A striking exhibition showcasing Guatemalan design opened today as part of Paris Design Week 2025, offering a compelling vision of craft intersecting with contemporary aesthetics. The display, titled “Guatemala Designs with Its Hands,” is located at 84 rue de Turenne, 75003, within the paris Design Week Factory.
The exhibition presents a curated collection of Guatemalan works housed within a capsule-like structure inspired by Temple I of tikal, also known as the Great Jaguar – a significant 7th-century CE mayan pyramid. This architectural homage underscores the deep ancient roots informing Guatemala’s modern design landscape. The presentation aims to elevate the profile of Guatemalan artisans and designers on the international stage, fostering appreciation for their unique skills and cultural heritage.
