DeLand,Fla. – Stetson Volleyball will compete in the 305 Challenge in Miami, facing UCF, FIU, and North Texas this weekend. The Hatters open the tournament Friday at 1:00 PM against UCF, followed by a 6:00 PM match versus FIU. Stetson concludes play Saturday at 11:00 AM against North Texas. All matches will be held at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
Stetson enters the tournament led by Zuzanna Bury, who has 50 kills in 13 sets, alongside 20 digs and three total blocks.she recently achieved a career-high 25 kills and 16 digs, recording two double-doubles in the first week of play. nyah Molina has also made a significant impact with 12 kills, 109 assists, and a team-leading 55 digs, needing just 103 more assists to reach 3,000 for her career.
UCF is undefeated at 3-0, having defeated Chattanooga (3-0), Norfolk State (3-1), and UC Riverside (3-0).Avah Armour leads the Knights with 36 kills, and Sophia Kotsovolos has 36 digs in 8 sets.
Florida International comes into the challenge with a 2-1 record after a weekend at Duke, falling to Houston (3-0) but defeating Bryant (3-0) and Duke (3-1). Kira Givans leads FIU with 34 kills, while Mandi Morioka has a team-high 45 digs.North Texas also boasts a 3-0 start to the season, with wins over Little Rock (3-1), Providence (3-1), and East Texas A&M (3-0).Reagan Bedell leads the Mean Green with 41 kills, closely followed by Jahniya Jackson with 33. Dakota Mitchell leads in digs with 43, and Loredana Fouonji tops the team with 12 blocks.
Following the 305 Challenge,Stetson will travel to Charleston for the College of Charleston Invitational next weekend.
