Andrew (Andy) Lynott, Beloved Midwest Radio Figure, Passes Away
Ballina, Co. Mayo – Andrew (Andy) Lynott,a familiar voice and respected figure in the Midwest Radio community,has passed away peacefully at Mayo university Hospital. He was a longtime resident of Station Road, Ballina, and formerly of Scullibeen, Crossmolina, Co. Mayo. His death marks a loss for the local broadcasting landscape and the wider community he served.
Lynott’s passing follows that of his wife, Margaret (nee Howley), his parents Mary Kate (nee Murphy) and John Lynott, and siblings john Francis, Michael, Bridie Jordan, Vincent, and Stanley. He is survived by his daughter Mary kilcullen, son Gus, son-in-law Emmet, grandchildren Aoife and James Kilcullen, James’s partner Klera, and great-granddaughter Elizabeth, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Reposing will take place at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (F26 V274) on Wednesday evening from 5:30pm, with removal at 7pm too St.Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina. A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday morning at 11:30am, followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery, Ballina.
