MELBOURNE – Courtney and Grant, contestants on the 2024 season of Channel 9’s The Block, have celebrated a notable win, securing $1.35 million in profit after their house sold for $3.3 million at auction. The result exceeded the property’s reserve price of $1.95 million by $1,350,000.
The couple, who competed on the show renovating a property in Hampton, Victoria, were declared winners after successfully auctioning their home first on auction day. They won six room reveals,a car,a cover feature in Domain magazine, and the considerable cash prize.
“Blood, sweat, and so many tears later, we’ve won six rooms, a car, the cover of Domain and $1.35 million. But this experience was so much more than any prize. It was the most challenging journey, but also the most rewarding one,” Courtney and Grant shared following their victory.
Grant attributed their success in part to consistent bidder Adrian Portelli, stating: “Adrian [Portelli] does what he does and outbids himself and I couldn’t be more grateful.” Courtney echoed this sentiment, adding, “We were not expecting that.”
The couple have as launched their “Moditerranean” collection, a design range reflecting their aesthetic showcased on the program. They are also expecting a baby.
