Germany Announces team for The World Games 2025 in Chengdu – Gymnastics Focus

Chengdu, China Germany has revealed its athlete roster for The World Games 2025, set to take place in Chengdu, China, from August 7th to August 17th. The team will primarily focus on Trampoline Gymnastics and Sport Acrobatics, with a notable absence in aerobic Gymnastics and Parkour competition.

The World Games, a multi-sport event featuring disciplines not contested in the Olympic Games, will showcase a diverse range of gymnastics disciplines including Trampoline (Doppelmini, Synchronous, Tumbling), Sport Acrobatics, and Parkour. rhythmic Gymnastics, a mainstay since the 2001 Akita Games in Japan, will not be featured in the 2025 program.

Germany will send a contingent of 3 athletes to compete in Trampoline Gymnastics. A larger team of 7 athletes will represent the nation in Sport Acrobatics. This strategic focus reflects the strengths of German gymnastics, according to officials at the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB). Despite strong representation in othre turn sports like Fistball, Corfball, and Orienteering – with a combined 38 athletes participating – Germany has opted not to field teams in Aerobic Gymnastics or parkour for these Games.

The decision aligns with a broader trend within the DTB to concentrate resources on disciplines where Germany has a proven track record of international success. The Chengdu Games represent a key prospect for German gymnasts to demonstrate their skills on a global stage.
