Humans Struggle to Detect AI-Generated Images: Microsoft Study Reveals 62% Accuracy Rate

A recent study by Microsoft revealed that humans are increasingly unable to distinguish between real photographs and those generated by artificial intelligence (AI). The test, conducted with over 12,500 participants, showed an average accuracy rate of just 62%, meaning individuals correctly identified only 6 out of 10 images as genuine.

When subjected to the same test, Microsoft’s own AI achieved a 95% accuracy rate, significantly higher than the human average, but still not perfect.
