‘The Old Country’ System Requirements Revealed
PC Players Gear Up as Launch Nears
With the release of ‘The Old Country’ just seven days away, developers have published crucial system requirements. PC gamers can now assess if their hardware is ready for the upcoming title.
Minimum PC Hardware
To achieve a smooth experience at Full HD resolution with medium graphical settings, players will need at least an NVIDIA RTX 2070 or an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card. Meeting these specifications should allow the game to run effectively.
Those with more powerful systems can unlock frame rates beyond the standard limit. However, in-game cinematics are capped at 30 frames per second, irrespective of system performance. The game will support upscaling technologies like FSR 4, DLSS 4, and Xess 2 to enhance visual performance. Additionally, ‘The Old Country’ is compatible with widescreen monitors and supports HDR playback.
Console Performance Modes
Details have also emerged regarding console versions. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, players can choose between two modes. The ‘Quality’ mode prioritizes higher resolution at the expense of frame rate, while ‘Power’ mode reduces graphical fidelity to achieve higher FPS. A statement indicating ‘Power’ mode runs at an average of 60 FPS suggests potential frame rate instability.

Information is still missing for the Xbox Series S version. There has also been no official word on whether the game will leverage the enhanced capabilities of the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The gaming industry continues to see a strong demand for high-fidelity experiences; for example, Elden Ring’s recent PC patch notes indicate a focus on performance improvements, reflecting player expectations for smooth gameplay. (Elden Ring Official)
