Two years after being characterized as a strengthening, synchronized yet autonomous coalition, Iran’s Axis of Resistance continues to navigate a complex regional habitat marked by escalating confrontations. Hamidreza Azizi, whose 2023 article, “How Iran and It’s Allies Hope to Save Hamas,” first detailed this change, revisits his analysis in light of ongoing tensions involving Israel, the United States, Iran, and members of the Axis.

In his previous work, Azizi noted a important progress: the Axis of Resistance had evolved into what he described as a “cohesive alliance network.” This assessment highlighted a growing unity and coordinated strategy among Iran’s allies, which include groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza, and various Shi’a militias operating in Iraq and Syria.The network’s primary objectives have consistently centered on countering Israeli influence, opposing U.S. military presence in the Middle East, and supporting the Palestinian cause.
