Alexander Isak: Newcastle Future – Howe’s Stance on Liverpool Interest

Newcastle United manager Eddie howe has expressed his desire for striker Alexander Isak to remain at the club, despite speculation linking the player with a move. Howe confirmed that “things are going on behind the scenes” regarding player movements but emphasized that conversations with Isak would remain private.

Isak, who joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in August 2022 for approximately £60 million, has a contract with the club until June 2028. He enjoyed a successful first season, scoring 27 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions. Howe stated that the club would “love him to continue his journey at Newcastle,” but acknowledged that any decision must be “right for Newcastle.”

The Swedish international is currently having a thigh injury assessed. Howe explained that isak first mentioned the issue before a kind against Celtic, and after training early on Monday, he “didn’t feel right.” Howe is hopeful that isak will “be back soon and playing in the black and white shirt.”
