Carmel McNeela of westport Passes away at 97

Westport,Ireland – Carmel McNeela,a beloved resident of McNeela Terrace,The Quay,Westport,passed away peacefully on July 16,2025,at the age of 97. She died surrounded by her family in the care of Claremount nursing home in Claremorris.

Ms. mcneela was a cherished sister to Pauline Dalton and a much-adored aunt to Fr. Ger Burns, Kathleen Burns, Mary Freeley, Nonie McGee, Padraig Burns, and Michael Dalton. Her passing leaves a void felt by her grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews, relatives, and a wide circle of friends.

the community will have an possibility to pay their respects. Ms. McNeela will be reposing at Navin’s Funeral Home in Westport on Friday evening, July 18, from 5:30 p.m. A removal to St. Mary’s Church Westport will follow at 6:30 p.m.
