Winnetka Music Festival 2025 Draws Thousands Despite heat Wave

Thousands flocked to Winnetka this weekend, June 20-21, braving 90-degree temperatures to enjoy the eighth annual Winnetka Music Festival. Headlined by The Revivalists and Cold war Kids,the festival showcased 29 artists across multiple stages,offering a diverse musical experience for North Shore residents.

Despite the sweltering heat,an estimated 6,300 attendees on Friday and 6,000 on Saturday danced to a vibrant mix of indie rock,bluegrass,funk,and more. The festival, co-founded by Scott Myers and Val Haller, aims to highlight both quality music and the strong sense of community in Winnetka.

Friday’s sold-out lineup was headlined by The revivalists, known for thier hit song “Wish I Knew You.” Saturday featured performances from a variety of artists, including Pete Yorn, Augustana, and Grace Enger. Cold war Kids, an indie rock band from Long Beach, California, capped off the festival with a performance that lasted until 10:30 p.m.
Jason LaBelle, a Glencoe resident, attended specifically to see eggy, a jam band with a 70s vibe.He praised the festival’s layout and convenience, saying, “The music’s good; the layout is really nice. It’s just so convenient. it’s such a treat to have it all right there in the backyard.”
New “Just Listen Sessions” Added to the Festival
This year, the festival introduced “Just Listen Sessions,” held Friday evening at the Winnetka Chapel Stage. These sessions, in collaboration with The book Stall, featured a roundtable discussion with music journalists Selena Fragassi, Annie Zaleski, and Paul Natkin, as well as a panel with artists Kendall Robbins, Tony Kamel, and members of Hotel Fiction.
