Opposition Slams Netanyahu’s Strategy
Yair Golan, leader of the opposition Israeli “Democrats,” criticized Netanyahu’s slogan of absolute victory as a “lie,”
arguing that it lacks military or political substance and serves as mere propaganda.
“This is a term that does not carry any real military or political meaning, this is not a strategy, but a propaganda.”
–Yair Golan, Leader of the Israeli “Democrats”
Golan argued that “the occupation of the Gaza Strip is not a security goal, but rather the exact opposite: it is a political step that weakens the security of israel, and the hostages and the Israeli army soldiers are at risk.”
He has repeatedly called for a thorough agreement to secure the release of Israeli prisoners in exchange for ending the war and advocated for replacing Netanyahu’s government.
According to the United Nations, over 1.7 million people, nearly 80% of Gaza’s population, have been displaced as the start of the conflict (UN News 2024).
