The Incident Unfolds

• Initial Inquiry: Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to a call regarding a possible kidnapping at a residence in the 1900 block of 33rd Street Southeast in Ruskin shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Monday.
• Tracking Device: According to HCSO, mr.Jaramillo allegedly used a tracking device placed inside his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle to locate her at the Ruskin residence.
• Forcible Abduction: deputies reported that Mr.Jaramillo forcibly took the victim’s car keys as she exited the home. He then allegedly forced her into the trunk of her vehicle and drove away.

Journey to Palmetto and Apprehension

• transportation: Mr. Jaramillo drove the victim to his home in Palmetto, where he allegedly held her against her will.
• Intervention: the Manatee County Sheriff’s office (MCSO) was alerted to the ongoing investigation. Deputies stopped Mr. Jaramillo as he was leaving his neighborhood wiht the victim in her vehicle.
• Arrest: Mr. Jaramillo was taken into custody, and the victim was recovered. She sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

Mr. Jaramillo faces multiple charges:

• Carjacking
• Kidnapping
• battery-Domestic Violence
• Installation of a Tracking Device

He was booked into the Manatee County Jail and will be extradited to Hillsborough County to face these charges.
