Palmetto Man Arrested for Kidnapping Ex-Girlfriend

A 21-year-old Palmetto, Fla., man, Julian Jaramillo, is in custody after being accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend. The incident spanned two counties, beginning in Hillsborough County and ending in Manatee County.

The Incident Unfolds

  • Initial Inquiry: Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to a call regarding a possible kidnapping at a residence in the 1900 block of 33rd Street Southeast in Ruskin shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Monday.
  • Tracking Device: According to HCSO, mr.Jaramillo allegedly used a tracking device placed inside his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle to locate her at the Ruskin residence.
  • Forcible Abduction: deputies reported that Mr.Jaramillo forcibly took the victim’s car keys as she exited the home. He then allegedly forced her into the trunk of her vehicle and drove away.
