Violinist Kristin Balan Celebrates Birthday with Music adn Reflection

Celebrated violinist Kristin Balan marked her 35th birthday on May 8,reflecting on a year filled with remarkable performances and personal joys. While often traveling or performing on her birthday, Balan cherishes teh moments she spends at home with family and close friends, enjoying good food and creating lasting memories.

This year, Balan planned a cozy party at home. This time to,I’ll be home and since I really like to cook,I will probably bake a cake for myself, she shared,revealing her intention to bake a simple banana cake with Greek yogurt and cinnamon.

Sincere Music Together

Music remains a constant source of solace and inspiration for Balan, especially in turbulent times. The world is anxious, and it certainly affects me, both as a man and as an artist. there are moments when thoughts are moving out of music, the excitement of what is happening around us. Sometimes it is harder to find the lightness needed for creativity.However, music will always be my shelter, a place to recover peace.

Balan fondly recalls past birthdays when orchestras surprised her by playing “Happy Birthday to You.”

Family plays a central role in Balan’s life, with birthdays frequently enough evolving into intimate musical gatherings.

She recounted a past birthday celebration in London.

During the code, we celebrated a birthday with my closest friends and relatives with a small acoustic concert in the backyard garden in London, where neighbors were happy with such a private concert.

Another year, she and her loved ones explored london by bike.

On another provisional anniversary, we ride the wheels all over London – it was surprising to see this city so empty. Another time we have gone on a tour of London, visiting all the HawkMoor churches, located in an interesting and mysterious way throughout the city, ”Kristin is happy to be together.

Debut in the Royal Albert Hall

Reflecting on the past year, Balan noted its productivity, marked by numerous concerts and significant debuts.

There was a debut with fantastic orchestras, the Helsinki Philharmonic, the BBC Concert Orchestra, also the first Japanese concert tour, a concert tour in Australia and also debut in the legendary Sidney Opera House with Sister Margaret Balan.

A highlight was her debut at the Royal Albert Hall in London with her sister.

It was an indescribable feeling to perform in the legendary hall where I was a listener before.

Balan recounted a particularly memorable experience when she had to replace violinist Isabelle Faust on short notice.

There was also one excellent episode: a peaceful lunch time when making tea at home, suddenly I got a message from an acquaintance in Switzerland – can I play a dvorcher violin concert? It turned out to be the violinist Isabelle FaustWho had to perform that evening did not feel well after the attempt. So I had to fly to switzerland the same day, try a concert with the Music Kollegium Winterthur orchestra once, after trying to prepare for half an hour and climb the stage. I couldn’t even worry as everything happened so fast! ” Today’s Gavilniece tells today.

Another cherished memory is the “Balan Christmas Charity Master Class” she organized with her siblings for young Latvian musicians.

To lead these charity master classes was a very special event that filled the heart with joy and left a lasting sense of satisfaction!

Maybe Some Cake

Looking ahead, Balan is filled with gratitude and anticipation for new adventures.

I appreciate everything I have been given, and every new day is like an adventure and challenge for me! she said.

she is scheduled to perform at a festival in Cyprus and has concerts and festivals planned in Germany,Portugal,Norway,and other European countries.

Balan also hopes to continue the Christmas master classes for young people in Latvia as an annual tradition.

Plans continue to form and move forward! In latvia we are gradually starting to plan Christmas master classes for young people, which we hope to continue every year as a tradition, she revealed.

Born in the spring, Balan expressed her love for the season and her anticipation for summer.

She reminisced about her recent concert tour in Australia and her time in Taiwan.

But this year I have twice enjoyed the summer heat – first for a three -week concert tour in Australia with Sister Margaret and Brother Robert, and later in Taiwan, where similar hot weather ruled.
