The public service in Mönchengladbach is expected to come to a standstill on Tuesday, February 28th. The services union Verdi called for a warning strike two weeks after the most recent work stoppage, as Verdi announced on Friday. “All colleagues from the city administration” are affected, including in Mönchengladbach, as well as the NEW, the Niersverband and, for the first time, the Employment Agency. According to Verdi, the employees of the Mönchengladbach and Krefeld theaters will also go on strike. In Mönchengladbach, the local waste disposal company will also be on strike on Tuesday with the GEM, Verdi said. Street cleaning and garbage collection would then only take place marginally. “Due to the dynamics of the collective bargaining round, other companies could join the strike on Tuesday,” it said.
