Interior and Sports Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) signed 264 new grant notices with a total amount of over 4.6 million euros to Hessian sports clubs and municipalities, according to a press release.

“Sport is the largest civil movement in our society. It not only serves to maintain health, but also increases well-being and cohesion on site. The pandemic in particular clearly shows us the importance of popular sport. So that the citizens can experience the positive effects of sport, the state supports the exemplary engagement in the clubs with record funds. Around 61 million euros will be available for sports funding in 2021, ”said Beuth.

Above all, the smaller clubs would be supported. The minister emphasized that the development of popular sport was one of the state government’s core tasks: “Our focus is primarily on the areas of health, integration, the social tasks of sport and youth sport.”

And these are the funding projects in the district of Giessen: 10,800 euros from the state program “Sport and Refugees” go to the municipality of Reiskirchen, 9,000 euros to the city of Staufenberg, 6,000 euros each to Biebertal, Buseck, Fernwald, Langgöns and Laubach and 5,000 euros to Allendorf / Lda .. TSV Frisch Auf 1930 Bellersheim receives 25,500 euros for the renovation of the sports home. The 1957 rifle club Wißmar receives 9,600 euros for security measures at the shooting range and conversion to electronic shooting ranges. 5500 euros go to the Londorf rifle club for the renewal of the air rifle and air pistol stands. TSV 1910 Lauter receives 1700 euros for the restoration and irrigation of the lawn sports field.
