95 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in Latvia

Another 95 cases of Covid-19 were detected in Latvia during the day, which is the largest number of cases detected in one day in Latvia since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the information of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

In the last 24 hours, 4271 Covid-19 tests have been performed, 95 new cases have been registered.

The information available to the SPKC shows that 63 patients became infected from known sources of infection, 4 infected abroad – in Ukraine, Russia and Austria.

In turn, the conditions of infection are specified for 28 persons. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

So far, in one day, the highest number of detected infections was recorded on April 1, when 48 cases of the disease were detected, of which more than half were men from the shelter “Blue Cross” in Riga.

A total of 320,018 examinations were performed in Latvia, 1,824 persons became ill and 1,307 recovered, and 37 died.

5 patients with Covid-19 were hospitalized during the last day.

A total of 19 patients are treated in hospitals, of whom 18 have a moderate course of the disease and one has a severe course of the disease.

A total of 229 patients were discharged from the hospital.

CONTEXT:

In Latvia on June 10 ended An emergency situation was announced on 12 March to contain the new coronavirus. The virus is still circulating and there is no medicine or vaccine against it. Certain restrictions still apply to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
