Xinhua News Agency, Ankara, December 19 (Reporter Zheng Siyuan and Shi Yang) A fire broke out in a private hospital in Gaziantep Province in southeastern Turkey on the 19th, resulting in the deaths of 9 COVID-19 patients.

According to Turkey’s Anadolu News Agency, the cause of the fire was an explosion of an oxygen machine used to treat patients with the new crown in the intensive care unit of the hospital. The victims were between 65 and 85 years old.

According to reports, 14 other patients with COVID-19 who were treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital involved have been referred to other hospitals.

The fire has been extinguished, and relevant departments are launching related investigations.
