88% of BHN clients are low-income housing

The general manager of Banco Hipotecario Nacional (BHN), Gean Marc Córdoba, reported that 88% of the clients of this entity correspond to affordable housing, while 12% to private residential mortgage loans.

The general manager indicated that 52% of people apply to BHN for apartment loans; 29% for lots; and 18% for houses. Most of the mortgages are concentrated in the provinces of Colón and Panama.

Currently, the BHN offers mortgage loans for the acquisition of new homes, second homes or for mortgage transfers up to the maximum amount of B / .170,000.00, with an interest rate of 0.75% to 5.75%.

The BHN has housing projects of social interest in the provinces of Colón, Panamá, Panamá Oeste, Herrera, Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí and Veraguas.
