8,015 new corona infections, a decrease for the first time in 5 days | Inland

The number of deaths caused by Covid-19 increased by 17 over the past 24 hours. That does not mean that all of these people have died in the past 24 hours. This information is sometimes passed on to RIVM with some delay. On Sunday, the researchers reported that 15 people had recently died from the coronavirus.

In the past seven days, the number of positive tests increased by about 55,000. That is more than double compared to two weeks earlier.

In the safety region of Rotterdam-Rijnmond, the number of infections increased the most in the past 24 hours, by 982. In 543 cases it concerned residents of Rotterdam. In the province of Utrecht, the number of positive tests increased by 873 and in Amsterdam-Amstelland by 654.

Since the start of the outbreak in the spring, the RIVM has determined that 236,000 people have the corona virus. The limit of 250,000 infections will be reached halfway through this week if the number of infections increases at the same rate as in recent days. The institute is certain of nearly 6,800 people who have died of Covid-19. The actual number of deaths is probably higher. Not everyone who has died from the corona virus has also been tested for it.
