“80% of Japanese citizens have abandoned their minds at the Tokyo Olympics”…80.1% are’stopped’ or’reacted’

[서울=뉴스핌] Reporter Oh Young-sang = The theory of the Tokyo Olympics scheduled for July this year is gradually spreading in Japan.

While the spread of Corona 19 did not know how to stop, 80% of the Japanese people answered that they “must stop or reschedule.” Olympic skepticism is raising its head in politics, including the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee.

In a national poll conducted by Kyodo News Agency on the 9th to 10th, 35.3% of respondents said that this year’s Tokyo Olympics should be “stopped” and 44.8% of respondents said “should be delayed”. 80.1% of the Japanese people answered that the Olympics should be stopped or postponed.

This is the first time in Japan that public opinion for the suspension or reenactment of the Tokyo Olympics has exceeded 80%. According to the Asahi Shimbun’s survey on the 21st of last month, 65% of interruptions (32%) and reenactments (33%) were combined.

The Japanese government and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have repeatedly expressed their willingness to host the Tokyo Olympics, but the theory of crisis is spreading even within Japanese politics.

On the 7th, when the Japanese government re-issued an emergency declaration in four metropolitan areas including Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama, the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee said, “Emergency If the declaration is not lifted by March, it will be difficult to host the competition.”

According to the Asahi Shimbun that day, a high-ranking official from the organizing committee said, “I am worried about how the world will accept the spread of infection in Japan.” Another official said, “If you think of people who have a hard time living day by day or medical workers, hosting the Olympics is not a problem.”

The organizing committee is currently working on a guideline for countermeasures against coronavirus for athletes and competition officials, and plans to start online interviews with the Olympic Committees of each country in January. However, as the spread of corona in Japan has not stopped, there is also growing concern about hosting the event.

Prudence is also emerging within Japanese politics. On the 5th, Toshihiro Nikai, the second leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, said, “I would like to hear the opinion that it will not hold.”

In Japan, the number of corona 19 confirmed cases is exploding. Up to the 9th, more than 7000 people occurred for 4 consecutive days, and 6081 people occurred on the 10th, still maintaining a high level.

In addition, four men and women who arrived from Brazil following the mutant virus from Britain and South Africa were confirmed to be infected with the new mutant virus, raising concerns about the spread of the mutant virus.

As of 0 o’clock on the 11th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Japan is 28,9463, and the cumulative death toll is 4080.
