79% of US Republicans “still support Trump”

Material photo-Dissatisfaction with the presidential election, incitement of raids on the Capitol, and two impeachment while in office.

US President Donald Trump is facing the’dishonored dismissal’, but the US Republicans’ love for Trump has not changed much.

Public opinion polls show that Republicans still support President Trump.

In a joint poll by the Washington Post and ABC released on the 15th (local time), 79% of Republicans answered that they supported President Trump.

This is the result of a public opinion poll conducted on the 11th to 13th, when the raid on the Capitol and the subsequent impeachment of Trump by the US House of Representatives was carried out (a telephone survey of 1002 adults nationwide, sample error ±3.5%).

Interestingly, 80% of Republicans said they were’no’ to the Trump supporters’ intrusion into Congress.

In short, it is the opinion of Republicans that they oppose the intrusion case, but that Trump supports it.

Republicans say that political activities are also necessary after Trump’s retirement.

While only 12% of Republicans say that Trump should not have an opportunity for public office in the future, 85% say that his opportunity for office should not be excluded.

In addition, 60% said that the Republican Party should follow Trump (as a leader), and 33% said it should take a new path.

Similar results were found in other polls.

In a joint poll released the day before by Axios and Ipsos, 64% of Republicans said they supported Trump’s “recent” actions.

In the survey, 57% of Republicans said that President Trump should be a Republican presidential candidate in 2024.

Trump’s unchanging support within the Republican Party proves that he is still a living power within the party.

“It’s completely wrong to think that Trump has been politically condemned to death,” Axios said in the poll.

Because of these circumstances, it seems unlikely that Trump’s impeachment bill that passed the US House of Representatives will be approved by the Senate.

In the House of Representatives, only 10 out of 211 Republicans voted in favor of the impeachment, but in the Senate, 17 out of 50 must be convicted of inciting the Trump uprising, and the final impeachment is processed.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post and ABC polls found that 56% of all Americans believe that President Trump should be restricted from running for office.
