77 percent of Belgians want oral masks to become mandatory …

77 percent of customers believe that wearing a mask should be mandatory when they visit the supermarket. This is evident from the new results of the biweekly corona study of the UAntwerp.

More and more Belgians believe that a mask should be mandatory in certain situations. According to the Large Corona Study of the University of Antwerp, in collaboration with UHasselt, KU Leuven and ULB, 77 percent of customers would like oral masks to be mandatory in the supermarket. 83 percent of staff also support this statement and believe that face masks should be mandatory.

Belgians also like to see more mouth masks in other shops. 70 percent think customers should wear a mask, and 76 percent think staff should do so. These are both slight increases from previous results. Only in the work context there is no increase.

On vacation with grandparents

The survey also gauged how children will spend the summer vacation. According to the data collected, most children between the ages of 6 and 17 would have vacation plans. 65 percent indicate that they will go on holiday with the family. One in three will go to sports camp this summer and one in four will leave camp with the youth movement.

20 percent of children and teenagers will spend time with their grandparents, and for children up to 8 years old, that will be as much as 25 percent.

A new survey will be published on Tuesday 14 July, which can be completed between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
