70 percent of Indonesian women only realized they had breast cancer when the disease was approaching an advanced stage

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Data from the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation (YKPI), shows that breast cancer is one of the highest causes of death for women, not only in Indonesia but also worldwide.

Number of patients breast cancer in the world in 2020 reached 19.3 million cases with a death rate of up to 10 million people.

This number increased compared to 2018 which recorded 18.1 million (30.9%) cases with 9.6 million deaths.

Especially in Indonesia, YKPI 2020 mentioned for the estimation of cancer cases showed that breast cancer ranks first while for the death rate breast cancer ranks second after lung cancer.

“Be more diligent in checking your breasts, take care of your diet and if you have any complaints, don’t be afraid to go straight to the doctor,” said Rani Nur Firdausi, a cancer survivor when she visited the Merche.id office in commemoration of Pink October Day recently.

Rani invites Indonesian women to be active and routinely check breast health to prevent and reduce cases breast cancer in Indonesia.

According to Camelia, his party collaborated with the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation (YKPI) to distribute donations from sales to survivors.
