65 stores closed in Breda, Opava, on Thursday. Which can go on?

If you now visit the Opava region, specifically the OC Breda & Weinstein, sixty-five shops are waiting for you. That is seventy percent of all OC tenants. The only exceptions are some shops, so the Albert supermarket, drugstore, refreshment windows on the top floor of the OC, pharmacy, feed and pet shop, florist, newsagent, household goods store or bank are open.

Breda is accessible from 9 am to 7 pm, except for the aforementioned Albert, which opens at 7 am. Of course, visitors must observe hygiene measures.

“In general, in the OC, in cooperation with rental units, all necessary preventive measures have been observed since the beginning of the announcement of measures related to the spread of Covid-19 disease so as to enable adequate protection of employees and visitors and at the same time enable safe operation of the OC. Specially trained security service staff for this supervision, “says Jaroslav Václavík, OC Breda & Weinstein manager.

Every regulation means a drop in customers

Until now, only “milder” measures have been in place in Breda. For example, the wifi did not work, it could only be entered in a group of two people, a two-meter spacing was observed. A casino, fitness center or multiplex cinema was closed. Wearing veils was a matter of course. Did people follow government regulations?

“Every restrictive measure that is announced results in a decrease in traffic in the OC. Therefore, I must state that, with a few exceptions, to which customers were notified by agreement, there were no violations of these statements and people complied with them, “he continues.

Closed stores logically mean a decline in sales. “In my opinion, it is clear that no one knows whether the really announced restriction will end in early November, as announced. At the moment, it is really too early to predict the future effects of this situation. In any case, we know that the losses will not be small and that the gradual return of sales units to normal will require significant support from the state. However, at present, our main priority is to ensure, if possible, the health of all and the effective functioning of OC, “says Jaroslav Václavík.

The state promised to sell the financial injection to the sellers during the time when the shops must be closed. In the case of OC Breda, individual tenants affected by the measure can therefore apply for compensation.

“In the spring, as an OC Lessor, we also tried to mitigate the effects of government measures by providing sales units with a discount on fees and rents. We expect that even in this case, individual negotiations will take place to help tenants. Unfortunately, no one will provide the owners of the OC with any compensation in this regard and must try, as best they can, to cope on their own, “adds Jaroslav Václavík.
