63,000 vaccination appointments opened for high-risk patients in Vienna

Today, Thursday, the City of Vienna opened 63,000 vaccination appointments for high-risk patients regardless of age. The office of City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) informed that younger people from this group should also be immunized by the end of April. The vaccine Biontech / Pfizer will be vaccinated from Monday.

So far, exactly 129,617 high-risk patients – including people suffering from asthma or diabetes – have registered with the Vienna vaccination service in the federal capital. 64,744 people from this group have already completed or booked their vaccination appointment. Since the majority of 62.7 percent are 65 years of age or older, they can be vaccinated through the general vaccination campaign for people born in 1956 or older.
