For the 1st collection of the French Blood Establishment at the start of the year, 62 donors, including two new ones, presented themselves, this Monday, January 17, at the Claude-Nougaro room to accomplish “this important civic gesture”, as underlined by Serge Fresquet, vice-president of the Amicale de Montady and “whom he would like to thank”.
Faced with the number of donors which tends to cross the bar of 60 donors per collection with difficulty for several quarters, in contrast to the collections carried out before the pandemic which reached some 100 donations, Serge Fresquet comments on this situation as follows: “For the past few months, the results have not lived up to our expectations and our involvement. The health climate means that blood donation no longer takes priority for some donors; Yet the urgency is still there with only nine days reserves of blood products instead of the necessary 15!”.
The next collection, which will take place on 28 mars.
