6 Teams Not Wearing Rainbow Captain Tires in AFF Cup

Six teams did not wear the rainbow armband or rainbow armband in the match AFF Cup 2021 in Singapore.

In the opening match featuring the duel of Timor Leste vs. Thailand at the National Stadium, the captain of Timor Leste Armindo De Almeida wore the white captain’s armband.

Unlike Timor Leste, the Thai captain Teerasil Dangda wears the rainbow armband. In the video uploaded to the official account of the Thai national team, coach Alexandre Polking is the person wearing the rainbow armband to Teerasil.

In the second match between hosts Singapore and Myanmar, it was Maung Lwin’s turn to wear the rainbow captain’s armband.

Meanwhile, the captain and midfielder for the Singapore national team, Hariss Harun, wore a white captain’s armband that contrasted with their red uniform.

The Cambodia vs Malaysia duel in Group B also showed one of the team captains wearing a rainbow tire which Soeuy Visal did, while Malaysia captain Aidil Zafuan chose a brightly colored captain’s tire.

The difference occurred in the Laos vs Vietnam match. The second duel in the Group was different from the previous three matches.

Both the Laos and Vietnam captains did not wear the rainbow armband. Vietnam captain Luong Xuan Truong wore the orange armband, while Laos captain Souk Aphone Vongchiengkham opted for a light color.

Until now, only the Indonesian and Philippine national teams have not played the match. However, the attitude of the Indonesian national team is clear, insisting that they will not wear the rainbow captain’s armband in the AFF Cup. This was said directly by the General Chairperson of PSSI Mochamad Iriawan.
