Influenza virus infection increases in winter, so you must know which foods cause the symptoms to worsen, to avoid eating them for a quick recovery.

In the report, we review the foods that should not be eaten if you suffer from influenza symptoms, as stated on the “healthline” and “eatthis” websites.

1- Fatty foods:

Avoid fried and fatty foods, as they are high in saturated fats, and it is difficult for your body to digest them.

2- Milk:

If you feel congestion, it is best to avoid it, to prevent the flu symptoms from getting worse.

3- Sugary Foods:

Added sugars are known to cause inflammation in the body, which may suppress immune function, so avoid sweets, cakes and other sugary foods until symptoms subside, and eat fruits rich in nutrients rich in vitamin C.

4- Caffeinated Drinks:

Things like coffee, black tea, and soda can make you drier, plus many of these drinks may contain sugar.

5- Solid Food:

Crunchy biscuits and potato chips can aggravate a cough and sore throat.

6- Processed foods:

It is best to avoid eating processed foods such as fast food, because the more you process the food, the fewer nutrients you get, and with the flu, your body tries to heal itself, so it is important to support the process with nutritious, whole foods.
