The employees took part in an external event and they are all fully vaccinated. These infections have a direct impact on the operation of the emergency department: “Patients who contact the emergency center 112 will be referred to surrounding hospitals,” says chief physician Inge Wouters. This relieves the emergency department. “People who register here themselves will of course still be helped. But to make that possible, we have to ensure that patient numbers remain under control and patients are redirected to other hospitals via the emergency center.”
