The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono confirmed, his party will not complicate the family to manage the retrieval of the remains.

“The police have never prevented or made it difficult for the family to take care of the bodies of the six people who tried to fight the officer,” said Argo Yuwono.

Argo said the police were in the process of identifying the body. He also did not deny that the National Police Hospital is now closely guarded by the TNI-Polri apparatus.

“Of course, according to the applicable SOP, officers carry out security to prevent irresponsible people,” he said.

Police chronology

Previously, the police said the car used by 10 Rizieq Shihab sympathizers had hit the police vehicle first.

This happened on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Monday (7/12/2020) in the morning.

At that time, according to the police, his party was investigating the alleged plan to mobilize Rizieq’s supporters to Polda Metro Jaya, Monday afternoon, to guard the legal process.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation (Dirkrimum) of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat, said that the car containing the FPI special laskar hit several police cars that were following it.

“The process of crashing first was how many times our car was hit and crushed,” said Tubagus at Polda Metro Jaya, Monday.

After that, said Tubagus, they immediately carried out attacks using sharp weapons and pistols towards the members.

However, he did not explain the attack process.

Tubagus emphasized that evidence of the attack carried out by the FPI special laskar against the police had been pocketed, one of which was the result of a voice message.

Feeling threatened, the police then opened fire, killing six of Rizieq’s bodyguards.

During the press conference, the police presented a number of pieces of evidence that belonged to Rizieq’s sympathizers.

There were firearms in the form of two pistols and seven bullets. Additionally, there were three cartridge casings.

According to the police, the two pistols were not homemade pistols. According to the police version, the paramilitary troops shot three times.

Other evidence shown is a sword and a sickle.

FPI version

Previously, FPI General Secretary Munarman explained that Rizieq and his family were heading for a family recitation at the dawn of the family. Rizieq departed from Sentul, Bogor, at 22.30 WIB.

In the motorcade there were also four other cars boarded by members of the FPI laskar who were guarding Rizieq.

The group realized that they were being followed by other vehicles since Sentul. However, he said, the stalkers took action at 12.30 WIB, after Rizieq’s group was on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, near the East Karawang Toll Gate.

“The stalkers were trying to cut off for whatever purpose. This is a person not in uniform. Trying to cut the group and stop the vehicle,” Munarman said during a press conference at FPI Petamburan headquarters, Central Jakarta, Monday afternoon.

“This person without uniform was trying to cut into the group and stop the vehicle. The guards reacted to protect HRS (Rizieq). The reaction was normal,” he said.

According to him, there were two cars containing bodyguards trying to stop the stalker.

Meanwhile, two other cars continued to drive, escorting Rizieq’s group and family to their destination.

However, of the two cars that confronted the stalker, said Munarman, one car immediately left after hearing gunshots.

“The other car saved itself because there was gunfire,” he said.

After that, FPI could no longer communicate with the six members of the laskar.

Therefore, FPI released a press release stating that the six of Rizieq’s bodyguards were missing.

Munarman said he was surprised when the Jakarta Police Chief said that six Rizieq sympathizers had been shot dead because they attacked the police.

“The big slander of our army is said to be carrying firearms. They are not equipped with firearms, they are used to empty hands. We are not cowards,” said Munarman.

“An extraordinary slander, a distortion of the facts by calling the soldiers the first to attack and carry out the shooting,” he continued.
