5G technology in Indonesia is just waiting for the government

Suara.com – The implementation of the 5G network is one of the things that the Indonesian people have been waiting for. Taufiqul Furqan as Product Marketing Manager Samsung Mobile, Samsung Electronics Indonesia said, sooner or later the 5G network will appear in Indonesia.

“We all know that the 5G network will soon enter, sooner or later. Now it is only a matter of waiting for the government to implement the 5G rules, including spectrum,” Taufiq said in a virtual press conference, Tuesday (9/3/2021).

As a smartphone manufacturer, Samsung has now issued a device that supports 5G networks. The cellphone is the Galaxy S21 series which was launched in mid-January.

According to Taufiq, the Galaxy S21 series already has technology that will implement the 5G network at any frequency. If the government has presented the network, then the Galaxy S21 just needs to apply the update to adjust the technology.

“Device readiness, we are already 5G ready. But there are still problems in the software. When the network arrives, we will launch new updates, including unlocking operators that already support 5G later,” he added.

As is known, Samsung only has the Galaxy S21 as the only device that supports the 5G network at this time. However, Taufiq does not deny that the company is ready to bring other 5G devices to Indonesia.

“For now, we only have the Galaxy S21. But we look forward to seeing other devices (which support the 5G network),” he said.

For information, Samsung sets the official price for the Galaxy S21 5G starting at Rp. 12,999,000, the Galaxy S21 + 5G from Rp. 15,999,000, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G from Rp. 19 million.
