5G is just starting, Apple is already looking for engineers to develop 6G networks on the iPhone

Apple has shown prior interest in 6G technology by joining a 6G industry group called the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS).

According to the report Bloomberg, Apple is looking for engineers for jobs in Silicon Valley and San Diego to develop 6G.

“You will have a unique and beneficial opportunity to create the next generation of wireless technology that will have a major impact on Apple products in the future,” said Apple in the job announcement, quoted by Apple Insider, Saturday (20/2).

Apple has shown prior interest in 6G technology by joining a 6G industry group called the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS).

Apple is also developing its own 5G modem to reduce its reliance on Qualcomm, so it’s no surprise that Apple is getting ready from now on to start developing its own 6G.

Apple launched 5G with its iPhone 12 lineup with support for the sub-6GHz band worldwide and mmWave only in the US.
