In 2001, news broke of Kang Su-ji’s marriage to dentist Hwang Jung-bin in the United States. However, this union was not to last. In 2006, after six years of marriage, the couple announced their agreement to divorce, surprising many. They had been separated since 2005, and the divorce agreement stipulated that Kang Su-ji would retain custody of their daughter, Huang Viviana. She raised her daughter as a single mother until her remarriage to Kim Kuk-jin.

Finding Love Again

Kim Kuk-jin, two years Kang Su-ji’s senior, gained renewed public attention after appearing on the 2015 SBS entertainment show Burning Youth. The couple, affectionately dubbed the Chihuahua couple, were beloved for their sweet interactions. Their connection, however, ran much deeper than the show. They had known each other for nearly 25 years, and it was Kim Kuk-jin who encouraged Kang Su-ji to join Burning Youth.

Kang Su-ji recently appeared on the YouTube channel doctor Easy on May 12, shedding light on her decision to remarry Kim Kuk-jin. she explained their history, stating: When we were active in the 90s, Kim kuk-jin was famous for not appearing on a concert or radio.

She further elaborated on their relationship’s development during Burning Youth: in the game, it was just like a couple.

Addressing rumors about who initiated the relationship, Kang Su-ji clarified: Some peopel said that I had a tail first, but it wasn’t at all. Kang Su-ji also spoke candidly about the realities of marriage, even after finding love later in life. He was previously married to talent Lee Yun-sung in October 2002,but they divorced in March 2004,after a year and five months.They had been separated since 2003 and endured the pain of a miscarriage during their marriage. Lee Yun-sung remarried dentist hong Jin-ho in 2005, while Kim kuk-jin remained single until his remarriage to Kang Su-ji in 2018. The couple, who are two years apart in age, found solace and happiness in each other’s company. They are now known to have a happy family with Kang Su-ji’s 21-year-old daughter,Viviana.
