50 Percent of Covid-19 National Affairs Completed if the Case in East Java Can Be Suppressed

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture ( Coordinating Minister for PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said, as much as 50 percent of handling matters Covid-19 in the country is over if the Covid-19 case in East Java can be suppressed.

This was conveyed by Muhadjir during his visit to Surabaya, East Java on Thursday (07/16/2020).

According to him, the Covid-19 case in East Java was very complex so that the handling was quite difficult.

“East Java has a very complex level of difficulty in handling. I am sure that if it can be suppressed here, then 50 percent of Covid-19 handling matters nationwide can be quickly resolved,” Muhadjir said after chairing the Covid-19 Coordination Handling Coordination Meeting in East Java , Thursday (07/16/2020), quoted from the press release.

Muhadjir said, now the government will continue to try to reduce the number of positive cases and deaths due to Covid-19, especially in East Java Province.

One effort made in East Java is to increase the number of adequate infrastructure.

Starting from referral hospital facilities such as the provision of medical devices (medical devices) and personal protective equipment (PPE), to the provision of isolation homes.

Some of the facilities and infrastructure provided include, an isolation place for people suspected of Covid-19 in the form of a mess provided by the Construction Services Center Region IV of the Ministry of PUPR in Surabaya.

Then there are 350 rooms for handling Covid-19 patients in Surabaya provided by the Human Resources Development Center (BPSDM).

Including the addition of infrastructure in Sidoarjo and Gresik, so that the handling is distributed and does not accumulate only in Surabaya.

“In addition, the Task Force Team is also ready to complete the primary medical equipment facilities needed especially for 99 main referral hospitals in the Greater Surabaya area,” he said.
