5 things to know about Lara Gautier, Miss Côte d’Azur

PORTRAIT – From the height of her meter 74, this young woman who dreams of working in marketing, launched an assault on the Miss France competition with one goal: to win the crown.

In two years, Lara Gautier has evolved enormously. The young marketing student gained self-confidence after spending several months in England but also thanks to her adventure at Miss Côte d’Azur. Very invested in the environment, she prepared carefully for the Miss France competition with sports and mental coaching, catwalk and general culture training. Efforts which, she hopes, will pay off on December 19 at Puy du Fou.

A formative experience at Miss Côte d’Azur

“Participating in Miss France is a project that has matured in me for two years. Since I was little, I have watched the election on television every year with my family. My grandmother always told me that I should introduce myself. It made me dream and I wanted to discover this environment. Before, I was very introverted by nature and I worked on myself for a change. It allowed me to gain self-confidence. When I felt ready, I tried my luck and I totally liked it. I also finished first runner-up in Miss Côte d’Azur last year. This experience was great and very educational. This year, I decided to try my luck again and it paid off. My grandmother is unfortunately no longer there to see him, but I’m sure she would have been happy. “

Five months in England
“In 2018, I went to study on my own in England. I spent five months in Nottingham, a student city 30 km from London. I was in a roommate and learned a lot about myself. This experience forced me to open up. When you don’t know anyone and you are far from your loved ones, you have to reach out to others. I learned to dare to do it and I do not regret it. I had a great experience and now have friends all over Europe, especially in Germany and Denmark. It did me good to be a little far from my family, it allowed me to discover myself. In addition, I am now bilingual! ”

A year devoted to Miss Côte d’Azur

“I validated my Master 1 in marketing and communication but then I put my Master 2 in brackets. I wanted to do a double degree by going abroad but between Miss France and the Covid, I decided to postpone this year of study until next year. I prefer to take full advantage of the Miss France experience. Later, I would like to go to a foreign country – preferably Anglo-Saxon – to do an internship. My goal is to work in a large group in marketing and communication. ”

Passionate about nature
“I was fortunate enough to grow up in the countryside near Nice and was brought up among animals and nature. I love to hike because it is the opportunity to take a real breath of fresh air and to disconnect. It is essential for me to do several in the year. I also really like the sea. I have been diving in the Mediterranean and I was really won over. It made me aware of environmental protection, an important cause for me that I would like to defend if I am elected. At home, we have photovoltaic panels, compost, we do selective sorting and we use natural household products. I try to have an ecological approach that respects the environment. ”

Stressed by the absence of an audience
“I tend to stress easily. I know that before going on stage on election night, I will be nervous but I will continue with my head held high. I have never done dance but I have the concern to do well so I make it a point of honor to really succeed in choreography. What stresses me the most would be not having an audience at all. I know things are not easy in these times of Covid-19. However, that represents a lot of interactions and, when you have an audience in a room, you approach the election differently. Afterwards, if there isn’t one, we will do without and we will imagine one. I will still live this experience to the full. I don’t want to complain because the election is taking place anyway so it’s already very good for me. ”
