5 Korean Artists Blacklisted, BIGBANG’s Seungri For Prostitution Business

The careers of a number of Korean artists have dimmed after being dragged into a scandal. Only a few are able to return to the Korean entertainment industry despite their tarnished name. For example, Seo Ye Ji was dragged into the gaslighting scandal and was the reason behind Kim Jung Hyun’s rude attitude to Seohyun.

However, this row of Korean artists drew strong criticism and was blacklisted by Korean netizens. His mistake was considered fatal because it involved prostitution to sexual harassment.

A survey conducted by Real Research Korea showed that these 5 Korean artists were not allowed to return to the Korean entertainment industry. Anyone?

Here are 5 Korean artists who were blacklisted because of the shocking scandal:

1. BIGBANG’s Seungri

In 2019, BIGBANG’s Seungri was revealed to be running a prostitution business by opening the Burning Sun nightclub. The prostitution scandal involved a number of Korean artists such as Jung Joon Young, who was proven to have recorded himself having sex with a woman without permission. He also shared the video in his group chat with CNBLUE’s Jonghyun.

Since then Seungri decided to withdraw from the Korean entertainment industry. The Burning Sun director was originally sentenced to three years in prison. But the court decided to reduce his sentence to one year and six months in his trial this month.

2. Go Young Wook

Singer Go Young Wook sexually assaulted three underage girls. He was sentenced to prison for two years and six months in 2013. Not only that, Go Young Woo also had to wear a monitor so that the police could monitor his activities for three years.

The 46-year-old man was released in 2015 and opened an Instagram account in 2020. However, one day after it was created, Go Young Wook’s account was deactivated and is suspected to have been mass-reported. Instagram also prohibits sex offenders from using Instagram.
