KOMPAS.com – The government starts setting prices cooking oil IDR 14,000 per liter starting today, Wednesday (19/1/2022).
The regulation was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.
“The implementation of the one-price policy for cooking oil, which is Rp. 14,000 per liter, will begin on Wednesday 19 January 2022 at 00.00 WIB throughout Indonesia,” said Airlangga as quoted from Kompas.com, Tuesday (18/1/2022).

Here are some facts to know about the decline oil prices fried to Rp 14,000 per liter.
1. Applies to all cooking oils
Downgrade policy cooking oil price This applies to all cooking oil, both premium packaging and simple packaging.
“All types of premium and simple packaging with sizes from 1 liter to 25 liter jerry cans are intended to meet household needs as well as micro and small businesses for household needs and micro and small businesses,” said Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi quoted from Kompas.com, Wednesday (19/1/2022).
Thus, the entire package of cooking oil, the price that comes into effect from today is Rp. 14,000.

2. Starting from modern retail
Lutfi said that the initial implementation of the one-price cooking oil policy started with modern retailers who are members of the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo).
As for traditional markets, his party said they were given one week.
“Traditional markets will be given 1 week to make adjustments to this policy. This policy will take effect from Wednesday 19 January 2022 at exactly 00.01 local time,” said Lutfi.

3. Sanctions on producers
Lutfi also said the government would not hesitate to impose sanctions on producers and cooking oil companies who were desperate to sell products above Rp 14,000 per liter.
“Producers who do not comply with the provisions will be subject to sanctions in the form of freezing or revocation of permits. We remind the government to take very firm steps,” he said.
In addition, all parties who commit fraudulent misappropriation of cooking oil according to him will be brought to the green table.
4. The stock of cooking oil is ensured to be safe
His party appealed to the public not to take excessive action, such as buying cooking oil.
Lutfi stressed that the stock of cooking oil is ensured to be safe so that there is no need for it panic buying.

5. The price difference for producers will be compensated
Meanwhile, Airlangga said the government would reimburse the price difference to cooking oil producers because they were asked to sell cooking oil below the production price.
The reimbursement is made using funds from the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS).
The funds that have been prepared are IDR 7.6 trillion which will be used to finance the supply of packaged cooking oil for the community of 250 million liters per month or 1.5 billion liters for 6 months.
