In an audio that circulates on social networks, the secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, Victor Manuel Toledo, attacked the government of the Fourth Transformation, since he said: “it does not have as such a clear objective, it is full of contradictions and there is a power struggle within the cabinet”, he commented that the interests of the members of the presidential cabinet and even those of the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, they are not in accordance with the six axes drawn up by Semarnat.
“I think that here it would be convenient, I would like to share with you what I spoke about, what I have lived through, what I have observed in these 10 months because indeed 4T as such, as a clear and finished set of objectives, does not exist On the contrary, this 4T government is full of contradictions and that these are expressed specifically in power struggles inside the cabinet, that I have noticed on several lines, I give you several examples, “he said.
He specified that the main conflicts have occurred between the dependency that he directs and the Secretariat of Agriculture for Rural Development (Sader), headed by Víctor Villalobos, since they intend to reach agroecology; while Sader seeks agribusiness: “they try to impose, let’s say, all the vision that prevails in the world for large corporations”.
In addition, he added that the head of the Presidency office, Alfonso Romo, has acquired power within the Fourth Transformation governmentWho, according to Toledo, blocks everything that is environmental in nature, be it in energy or agroecology.
Víctor Manuel Toledo mentioned three moments in which he has had conflicts with officials; the first with Víctor Villalobos on glyphosate, with which he had three meetings called by Romo, to approve the importation of the pesticide into the country.
