Dialog-Mail has greatly improved its key figures with a single measure

Vienna (pts001 / 09.01.2021 / 16:15) – It was just one measure – and the opening rate of the next dialog-Mail newsletter increased by 46%.

What was this measure and what are the advantages and disadvantages of the decision?

The idea was triggered by a range analysis that dialog-Mail carried out for its newsletter group. It was analyzed how many newsletter recipients could be reached over a longer period of time – and how many of them “Sleeper” have not opened a single newsletter.

As a result, the newsletter experts at dialog-Mail almost a third of the readers identifies who – for whatever reason – are not or no longer interested in the content, i.e. are “sleepers”.

Now one could argue that the sleepers do no harm, because the effort involved in sending an e-mail to 5,000 or 10,000 recipients is almost the same. On the other hand, a large number of sleepers have a serious disadvantage: him has a negative effect on the key figures.

The measure: As a next step, dialog-Mail simply removed the sleepers from the newsletter group.
