450 porpoises of the 2nd RIMa ready to go on opex: Lines of defense

The 2nd RIMa in Champagné (near Le Mans) has its eyes on the outside world. About 300 of its soldiers will leave for the Sahelian desert as part of the operation Barkhane and the fight against terrorist groups; a hundred others will go to southern Lebanon for a peacekeeping operation under the aegis of the UN and sixty in the thick equatorial forest of Guyana (the mission has already started) to track down the gold miners.

My colleague from the Le Mans editorial staff, Julien Belaud, was present at Thursday’s ceremony, a ceremony in which General Steiger, the boss of the 9th BIMa, participated. Here is the subject of my colleague published this morning in our editions of Sarthe.
